Sister to Attawapiskat- where are the promises? Attawapiskat are
still continuing to struggle after they declare 2 state of
emergencies this year in 2009. The first call came when the
demolition of the school, old water plant, 3 valve tanks and the old
fire hall. The most affected was around the school, where the old
school acted as a cap exposed toxic contamination onto the air
making the community sick.
They were force to shut down the
school and declared their first State of Emergency. INAC refused to
recognized it, everyone was left in disabelief as they were handed
down their death sentences that we consider genocide. The smell of
poisonous diesel contamination was felt with an overwhelming smell
in the community.
Then the 2nd state of emergency was declared in
July 2009. There was a massive sewage back up that flooded homes to
90 people who were left homeless. Most of them were elders, the sick
and disable. Some were taken to Cochrane, Ontario at our communitys
expense because the community was already overcrowded. Others who
stayed were given temporary makeshift tent frames. INAC refused to
recognize this other call for SOE!!!
Finally, Attawapiskat said
enough is enough! We live on Diamond land and our resources are
taken and extracted. How can Canada turn their back on us and say we
are a burden and yet, they are getting rich from our resources? You
must give back and help us!!! We live in Canada, we have been here
for thousands of years and still you practice your colonial genocide
with our lives....NO MORE!!!
We are going to tell the World what
Canada recent government is doing to their First Nations violating
their basic human rights to exist that is genocide. Take a look at
our videos- Part 1 and Part 2!! Once you are done, please visit us @
our facebook forum - if you like to join in our
cause!

Its getting
cold and racing for time. James Bay is harsh environment and winter
is just around the corner. Indian and Northern Affairs Canada still
refuses to help the community in desperate need for help and are
running low n their funds enduring shortage supplies, food and
accomodation for the homeless in Attawapiskat and in
Cochrane!!
These videos are dedicated to our children, our elders
and the sick who are continuing to suffer as you watch these
videos!!!
